Alphonse Mbarushimana is an ambitious, creative and methodical pharmacist passionate about healthy living and people’s well-being. He possesses leadership qualities and managerial skills with a solid background in lifestyle management and the ability to fulfill several functions. He is currently the voice of the Rwanda NCD Alliance as the Executive Director and has overall strategic and operational responsibilities for the execution of its mission. By being part of that endeavor, he has had the privilege of seeing firsthand how the organization contributes to enhancing people’s lives and advancing crucial causes. He feels rewarded to directly contribute to a meaningful cause and witness the positive impact of his efforts on the community.

Samuel Haragirimana is a highly ambitious and creative young medical clinical officer and epidemiologist, deeply committed to strengthening healthcare systems and empowering communities, particularly those that are vulnerable. With a strategic focus on evidence-based approaches, he works tirelessly to improve the well-being of individuals and is dedicated to addressing the social determinants of health to promote health equity. Samuel has undergone extensive training in research, global health, finance, entrepreneurship, leadership, and project planning. Currently serving as the Operations Manager at the Rwanda NCD Alliance, he excels in managing multiple tasks and is dedicated to contributing to community empowerment and health system strengthening.

Julie PIOTIE is a registered pharmacist dedicated to making a meaningful impact in public health, particularly in addressing the challenges posed by NCDs. She is engaged in the prevention and management of these conditions and has hands on experience in advocacy, resource mobilization and health system strengthening. With a background in pharmacy, she has a passion to drive positive change in healthcare delivery and policy and she is currently affiliated with the Rwanda NCD Alliance as the Program Assistant. She believes combining public health, research and advocacy are key to addressing NCDs in low and middle income countries.

DUKESHIMANA Patient is the Communication Officer at Rwanda NCD Alliance, where he manages communication strategies to advocate for non-communicable diseases and coordinates key events, including social media and conference communications. He previously served as the Operations Manager at The Campus Media Ltd, where he developed strong skills in media management and stakeholder engagement. Patient has also worked as a consultant for Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies Rwanda (AGGPR), overseeing the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge in the Eastern Province of Rwanda, where he empowered secondary school students to innovate and excel in entrepreneurship. While pursuing a bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine, Patient has also earned various certificates in media management through short courses from reputable academic institutions, further strengthening his expertise in communication and project coordination.

Naasson Nduwamungu is a committed public health professional, currently serving as the Outreach Coordinator at the Rwanda NCD Alliance. He has extensive expertise in women’s cancers and other non-communicable diseases, with active involvement in initiatives focused on NCDs, HIV integration, and community health monitoring. Naasson excels in evidence-based advocacy, healthcare worker capacity building, and promoting community-driven solutions to health challenges. His dedication to global health has driven his professional growth and enhanced his knowledge and skills in addressing NCD-related issues.

Sheila Uwanyumviye is a passionate Finance Assistant at the Rwanda Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Alliance, committed to contributing her skills and efforts to the prevention of NCDs. With expertise in financial management, logistics, and community-based initiatives, Sheila ensures timely preparation of financial reports, payrolls, and tax declarations while supporting organizational goals. Her dedication is underpinned by a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Technology and ongoing pursuit of a Master’s in Business Administration in Finance and Accounting. Proficient in record-keeping, training workshops, and data management, Sheila aspires to make a meaningful impact in NCD prevention and care.

NIYITEGEKA Thierry is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over five years of experience in accounting, auditing, and tax advisory. He has provided services to public institutions, private organizations, and non-governmental organizations, earning a strong reputation for expertise and exceptional performance in his field. Thierry has worked as an Accountant, Auditor, and Tax Advisor accredited by the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), demonstrating extensive knowledge in accounting, auditing, and taxation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from the University of Rwanda and is a Certified Public Accountant credentialed by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB).

Professor Joseph Mucumbitsi is a Chief Consultant Pediatrician and Cardiologist at King Faisal Hospital, Kigali, and an Associate Professor (Hon.) of Pediatrics at the University of Rwanda. He holds an MMED in Pediatrics, a Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology, and an MSc in Clinical Research from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL) in Belgium, where he also worked for a decade. Over the past 10 years, he has coordinated Rwanda’s national cardiac surgery program, collaborating with the Ministry of Health, King Faisal Hospital, and international teams to establish comprehensive cardiac care services. He is the chairperson of the Rwanda NCD Alliance and East Africa NCD Alliance. Professor Mucumbitsi has significantly contributed to the development of Rwanda’s NCD policies and guidelines as Chair of the national CVD technical working group. He has led numerous research projects on cardiovascular diseases, congenital heart conditions, and RHD prevention in collaboration with global organizations such as the World Heart Federation and PASCAR. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and serves as Chief Editor of the Rwanda Medical Journal.

Ms. Rose Gahire K. has been the Vice President of RNCDA since 2019 and is a co-founder of the Palliative Care Association of Rwanda, advocating for cancer and NCD awareness nationally and globally since 2008. She previously served as the first Country Program Manager for AIDS Healthcare Foundation (2005-2012) and established the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa (SWAA) - Rwanda in 1998, where she was the inaugural Executive Secretary. Rlose is holding a Bachelor’s in Business Commerce and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Rwanda, Ms. Gahire has been an active leader and member of various boards and expert groups for over 35 years. Her roles include Vice Chairperson of the National AIDS Commission, Chairperson of Gasabo District Social Commission, and member of technical working groups for national cancer and NCD strategies. She is also a passionate advocate as a person living with NCDs.

Dr. Florence Sibomana is a medical doctor currently working at PATH as Rwanda’s Senior Program Officer for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). She is a youth leader for nutrition and serves as a board member for several organizations, including the Rwanda Non-Communicable Disease Alliance, Save Generations Organization, and the Rwanda Girls Guides Association. Florence has extensive experience in advocacy and development work, focusing on nutrition, sexual and reproductive health rights, and non-communicable diseases in collaboration with various organizations. In her role at PATH, Florence provides technical expertise to the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) in strengthening primary healthcare systems for NCD management. She coordinates the Healthy Heart Africa Programme, which focuses on building the capacity of healthcare workers through training, screening, diagnosing, and treating patients with hypertension and diabetes, as well as promoting the use of data for informed decision-making and the delivery of quality care. Before joining PATH, Florence worked as a medical doctor at a district hospital in Rwanda for three years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in General Medicine and surgery at University of Rwanda and a Masters Degree in Public Health at University of Global Health Equity- Butaro Campus. and has received numerous awards, including recognition at the Global Health Case Competition for promoting a One Health approach.

NDIKUBWAYO Dominique is a skilled financial professional with extensive experience in finance and accounting. He serves as the Treasurer of RNCDA and responsible for overseeing the treasury of the organization. Domonique has been the Chief Finance Officer of Poor Women Development Network. With a background in managing accounts receivable at Trust Industries and working as a Tax Officer in Muhima Sector, Nyarugenge District, he has honed his skills in financial management and compliance. NDIKUBWAYO Dominique holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, showcasing his strong academic foundation in the field.
