Rwanda NCD Alliance and Kuishi Smart this August 2020 signed a new partnership agreement aspired to join efforts in preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases through raising awareness of risk factors, management and treatment as well as in associated activities to provide technical support and advocacy.
KUISHI SMART is a global organisation working to enhance health and improve quality of life through nutrition. The organisation offers high-quality services to people living with, or who are at risk of developing non-communicable diseases. Specifically, they provide medical nutrition therapy, need-based counselling, and behavioural interventions that embrace the values and cultures of people served.
Under a Memory of Understanding signed by Kuishi Smart CEO, Patient Beya and Rwanda NCD Alliance Project Manager Alphonse Mbarushimana, the two organisations agreed to work collaboratively and coordinate the development of the initiative that improve and support non-communicable diseases prevention, control and management. They also decided to carry out jointly monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the impact of these initiatives.
Explicitly, Kuishi Smart agreed to provide technical assistance to Rwanda NCD Alliance in carrying out activities to improve or elaborate the support provided to healthcare providers, patients and their families to prevent and manage non-communicable diseases including diabetes, chronic kidney diseases, obesity and hypertension.
